Available Positions and Qualifications
1. Stipendiary Trainee (Category-I – Diploma Holders)
These training-based roles are aimed at candidates holding a full-time diploma in engineering. Upon successful completion of training, candidates may be appointed as Scientific Assistants/B in their respective disciplines.
- Mechanical – 9 posts
- Electrical – 8 posts
- Instrumentation/Electronics – 8 posts
Qualification: Full-time Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks, with English proficiency required.
2. Stipendiary Trainee (Category-II – ITI Holders)
These positions are tailored for ITI-qualified individuals in relevant trades. Candidates will undergo two stages of training before being placed in Technician/B roles.
- Fitter – 10 posts
- Electrician – 8 posts
- Instrument Mechanic – 7 posts
Qualification: SSC with Science and Math, along with ITI in a relevant trade.
3. Scientific Assistant/B (Direct Recruitment)
- Civil Engineering – 2 posts
- Mechanical Engineering – 1 post
Qualification: Diploma or B.Sc. in a relevant field with a minimum of 60%.
4. Technician/B (Boiler Attendant)
- Boiler Attendant – 1 post
Qualification: SSC + First Class Boiler Attendant Certificate, with a preference for at least one year of experience.
5. Assistant Grade-1 (Group-C Non-Technical)
- HR, F&A, and C&MM Departments – 4 posts
Qualification: Any bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks, along with basic computer knowledge.
Age Criteria (as of 25/06/2025)
- Category-I Trainees & Scientific Assistant/B: 18 to 25 years
- Category-II Trainees: 18 to 24 years
- Technician/B (Boiler Attendant): 18 to 25 years
- Assistant Grade-1: 21 to 28 years
Age relaxation is available following government guidelines for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen.
Training, Pay & Bond Conditions
For Stipendiary Trainees (Category-I):
- Duration: 18 months
- Stipend: ₹16,000/month (first year), ₹18,000/month (next six months)
- Post-training pay: Level 6, ₹35,400 + allowances
For Stipendiary Trainees (Category-II):
- Duration: 2 years
- Stipend: ₹10,500/month (first year), ₹12,500/month (second year)
- Post-training pay: Level 3, ₹21,700 + allowances
For Direct Recruits:
- Scientific Assistant/B: Level 6 (₹35,400)
- Technician/B: Level 3 (₹21,700)
- Assistant Grade-1: Level 4 (₹25,500)
Candidates selected as trainees must sign a service bond committing to work for NPCIL for a minimum of 5 years post-training.
